A 3month old indie puppy was rushed into our 24 hour emergency a few days back when a concerned citizen saw the puppy attacked by a bigger dog on the street. When he arrived, he had a gaping wound in his chest through which a broken rib and his lungs were both visible. He had obvious difficulty in breathing, had lost quite a bit of blood and was in a lot of pain. We were immediately able to start assisted ventilation to help him breath with the help of our ventilator. We repaired the chest wall surgically and kept him in our critical care unit overnight where he was monitored closely. The next morning we were happy to see him bright and alert demanding his breakfast!
